Packer and Packaging Assistant

Marinade and sauces company in the Food Industry is seeking a Packer/ Packaging Assistant for our Production Department in Signal Hill, California.

Schedules: 1st shift: 4:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., (hours may vary based on need)

Must have open availability and be able to work any shift, weekends on occasion!

Pay Rate: $16.00 -$17.00 per hour – bi-weekly pay, full-time

Packaging Assistant responsibilities (this is not inclusive of all duties assigned)

Essential Functions: 

• Perform product packaging on all outgoing shipments.
• Required to operate food processing equipment while adhering to company policies.
• Experience with computer and inventory control systems.
• Update product inventory as products are received and added to our inventory.
• Interface with management regarding tagging all incoming materials the day they are received and locating them in their proper location as described by management.
• Responsible for following the FIFO method location as described by management.
• Be able to operate all power equipment within the facility in a safe and secure manner.
• Follow set procedures for receiving both raw materials and packing materials including truck inspections.
• Responsible for maintaining power hook ups to power equipment when not in use. Also required to check battery water levels on an as needed basis. Required to maintain an inventory of distilled water for the batteries.
• Maintain safe and clear isles for power equipment movement as well as pedestrian movement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid driver’s license
• Must be familiar with a production floor environment
• Must have attention to detail
• Must be familiar with packaging product and inventory control systems
• Good communication skills, follow up, and strong organization skills
• Punctual and team player oriented
• Forklift experience
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
